On World Tiger Day today, India has the largest tiger population in the world. It is the home for nearly 3000 tigers. 628 died in the past five years, according to the National Tiger Conservation Authority of India. Reasons are the same: poaching, hunting, and conflicts. This is just government data; the real situation is far worse than one can imagine. With increasing demand for tea, coffee leads to the expansion of these private plantations deep into reserved forest. No government or NGO can do much because of the scale of these businesses. Result involvement of these plantations behind all poaching hunting, directly or indirectly. We can make a difference only by educating farmers to reconstruct corridors and spread awareness about how important these majestic beings are for our environment. Join our mission to make a difference with each sip.
